The Real Tom Sawyer Island
We call this the real Tom Sawyer Island to
differentiate it from the Tom Sawyer Island at Walt Disney
World in Orlando Florida and at Disneyland California. The real
Tom Sawyer Island is somewhere in Missouri, near the
Mississippi River and Hannibal
Missouri where Mark Twain chose to be the setting of
parts of his famous books, the Adventure of Tom Sawyer.
While the Tom Sawyer Island attractions in
Disneyland and Walt Disney World are glamorous, the real
Tom Sawyer Island is a tiny place with very little on it. It
does not have a Wind mill like on Disney's version of Tom
Sawyer Island which is a lot more fun.

the island where Tom and Huck hung out.
